This filter attempts to find stocks that are trading at lows but starting to show strength. The filter is set so that the stock must be trading within 10% of its 52 week low but at the same time it must have gone up in price in the last 3 trading days. When one views the daily charts, the patterns are quite consistent. In many cases, one can view the traditional bowl pattern that a stock makes after a large price decline. That is the price drops, then the price drop declines, then there is a slight increase in price creating what appears to be a saucer or bowl at the bottom of the chart. The advantage of catching these stocks before a breakout is that if there is a breakout it can represent a very large percent because the stock price is already at a low.
