The FILE ACCESS DENIED message can be caused by spyware, internet security programs, and antivirus programs like Mcaffee and Norton, possibly when you are scrolling through charts. To resolve try turning off all such programs or look for settings in them which prevent files from being written to disk. Below, you can see a sample in McCaffee. When the SCAN FILES - When Writing to Disk - is on this can cause file access problems because Chartsmart is attempting to copy files and the security software will not allow this. In this example you can see how the is a checkbox for turning off the automatic scan when writing files to disk, which in this case corrects the problem.
Sample errors when you are running chartsmart is that the file access denied box will display and might show the problem file as temp8.txt or newsdumtemp.dbf. This is because you antivirus or spyware program is preventing ChartSmart from writing files to disk.
